***Bryan Park in Richmond Va***

Hello Friends...we need your help.

Bryan Park will be closing the back 9 holes. There are 3 individuals that don't like "Frisbee Players". They never have and never will. We don't play basketball, baseball or football. They have a personal vendetta against us. Please write them and make them respond individually to each one of us. Ask them questions that they must respond. Don't just voice your opinion. Ask questions that they must answer.

Bryan Park has been a park that is well known across the east coast for a meeting place for perverts. We have helped cut down this population but they are still there from morning till night. These 3 individuals would rather allow them to have run of the park than see disc golfers. Good choice.
The following is a letter to us from Glen Todd. He spent thousand of hours working on the course with their approval. He became a member of "Friends of Bryan Park." But they don't have any power and bow to whatever the City says. Now they want to move it to the dump in the back. Then in another year or so...change their mind again and move it whereever they wish.

Please help....


Despite the huge success of disc golf at Bryan Park, the city government has decided a large portion of the course should now be relocated. They have offered up an area in the woods around shelter #2, basically flat and completely overgrown, for 9 holes, and want to eliminate the back nine we now use. Reasons for this are unclear. Apparently the area around the entrance has now been classified as “passive use only” and disc golf is an “active use”. Holes 12 thru 16 in particular need to go because disc golfers can be seen by the public entering the park. A bad thing in their view. Hole 13 is a public safety concern because it crosses a road. Hole 14’s basket can be seen from Hermitage Road and this is not good either. On Hole 16 someone could drown in knee deep water. They will allow us to play 11 and then walk to 17 if we so choose. So it’s OK to walk all the way across the front of the park as long as we’re not throwing discs?

Leave it to a bunch of fools to ruin a good thing. This park is one of my favorites and something I look forward to whenever I get to Richmond.

bump...first timer to bryan today...only played new quarter and newport news and bryan was a lot of fun...hate to see it go anywhere any way! a friend did warn me en route to 13's green (i think it was 13) not to set my bag down as "hobos stay in those trees."
you'd think the city would appreciate people being out and active rather then hiding in the trees doin drugs and other crap...
