Default Hole of the Father's Day- 6/20/2010

Ashe County Park in Jefferson, NC

Hole 9, Par 4

Short: 553ft, Long: 660ft

Tee Shot:

I'm not sure if that is the long or short tee, it's the only pic available. I see something in the open field next to the bushes that may be the basket. Course map indicates that is where the basket is.

I'm throwing a Star Teebird RHBH because I lost my Surge SS Friday....

Default Ashe Signature Hole

Great hole that is much tighter today than the pic indicates (with limbs closing the gap over the last two years and full leaf out). Your disc needs to stay straight for a good while to reach the field. I'm throwing a RHBH Comet or Stratus.

If we're playing on the day the pic was taken (which is how I usually do this), I'd probably go Teebird, or maybe a Destroyer. While there are a few trees there, it seems that starting it straight is the key and then it's open below.

On the course map, there is a pic from the 9th basket looking back at the fairway. Wide open once you get out of the woods, so to speak. Road does not appear to be OB either.

Bombs away with the Destroyer!

Wow, this looks like a great hole. I bet its a hell-of hike up there. I'm throwing TL hoping to hit the gap and watch it sail...

If I remember correctly, that is the short tee pad. The long is a bit further back up the hill. I don't remember what I threw a few months ago when I played it, but I think if I played it again today, I'd be with Mando. I'd throw a Comet.

Oh, and by the way, that is the basket next to the bushes in the middle of the field.

I'm throwing a putter or mid through the gap. I can make up a stroke in the field a lot easier than making one up in those trees. Rhino seems to be the right choice here
