Took some of my hard earned X-mas money and picked up some new Vibrams!
In the mail (all Medium X-Link): 160 Lace 169 Trak 173 Obex 170 Ibex So I will have my (almost) all Vibram bag for the winter!!!! Overall it will be: 160 Lace 168 Ascent 169 Trak 173 Obex 170 Ibex 174 VP 173 Ridge (Soft) 168 Ridge 163 Summit (and maybe a 175 Aviar so I don't mess up my putting) I hope that all fits in my small bag...

I want to update my review of the Lace.
I have a 168g and a 172g. Since I've thrown them a quite a few times, they don't fly very different at all. Both are long and just straight. Not a lot of horizontal movement at all, but easily my most vertical disc. They perform pretty well in winds under 20mph from any direction. Behind my Ascents and my Traks, my Laces are my most thrown drivers.

I had a dream a month or so ago that I was heading up to a tournament in Wisconsin. In this dream, we stopped somewhere along the way where I bought two dark purple Ridges.
When we get to the course, I find out that those Ridges I bought were actually Laces. In the dream, the rims were so wide that my fingertips couldn't even reach the inside of the disc!!! I tried throwing them but they were like Nuke OS's on steroids. (I have a noodle arm). Last week, I finally got the chance to throw a 159 Lace, and I kind of expected it to be pretty overstable. But no! It flew very straight and edged out my Blizzard Wraith by about 5 feet, with less fade. Excited to use it more!!

My Vibram bag so far is a Trak & an Ibex. Hope to add the Summit by spring when the snow is gone. Can't wait to throw 'em. |

I like it a lot... but I am very inconsistent with it. It's a vicious cycle; I am sometimes scared to throw it because I don't trust myself with it, and I don't trust myself because I don't throw it enough.
When I am throwing well, though, it is super super sweet. One of the few truly understable discs I throw. And at such a low weight it is very understable. For someone with low/no snap such as myself, it is pretty much the only disc I can truly get a pure, OATless hyzer flip line without it being out of control.

^ I have a 164g firm Summit and it is awesome, a great approach and utility disc. It takes so little effort to make it fly straight. It is great when you have to throw from a standstill or in a slightly compromised stance. It's also good for really long putts. And it would probably be great short range bh roller disc, but I don't have a very good roller game, so I'm not sure. It should be noted that it hates any sort of headwind and medium to strong crosswinds and I much prefer my 171g off the tee.

In the past week I have lost 2 Laces and 1 Ibex. I have also sold 2 Obexes and 1 Ibex. I keep buying Vibrams and keep needing to buy more! BTW I'm not selling them because I don't like them, I'm selling them because I have multiple copies of the same mold and I'm eager to promote them to my friends.
