I had a sweet orange Buzzz that I left behind at Rockford last year. Some guys called me later that day trying to be all funny telling me how they think the disc is sweet and how they don't want to give it back to me, they just wanted to let me know they had it, yadda yadda. I forget why, but I ended up talking to the kid on the phone and about 5 minutes into the conversation he had a change of heart and was ready to give the disc back to me. That's when I found out they were from Wisconsin. I told him to just keep it. I didn't have the time to drive out there.

The best part about disc golf is that the real players out there 'get it' about karma. When I first started out, I twice lost discs in the weeds, and met guys from three and four states away who returned them to me before I finished the round. I've twice treed discs and had nimble climbers get them down for me (I'm much too big and old to climb any more). I've even had someone go into 50 degree water to help me get a disc! I lost a favorite champ valk at the BG Ams, and...you guessed it...it was at the lost and found table on Saturday.
Currently, I have four out there in the world: my first champ valk is in the lake at AJ Jolly, there was an orange blizzard wraith floating in the "D" pond at Idlewild, and I just left my blue Millennium Omega putter down the hill on 14 AND a pink blizzard wraith (my second) downhill off the 17th fairway at Lincoln Ridge on Easter Sunday.
I'm hoping some of them find their way home (name and number on the discs), and actually feel confident that they will, if they're found by REAL disc golfers. I know there are others who play, but I'm very impressed by the good guys I've met.
Oh, and I have managed to return every disc I've found so far!

I have a red katana sitting in the water underneath the 6E hole at Mciver. My buddy did it, so I will end up with it replaced, but I know the water is going to go low and someone will easily grab it. I hope they call me on it, just so I can know how awesome this community is!

I lost my first disc, X-Buzzz, in the Chicago area a couple years ago (I didn't throw and couldn't find, but rather left it lay and walked off the course not realizing it until far away). I live in the Cincinnati area. This was my favorite disc ever and it took a long time to replace it mentally. But, I moved on. I got my current Buzzz stamped and love it, but as I decided to only buy different molds instead of different types of discs, I recently bought another X-Buzzz, lighter weight, and tomorrow I should receive my titanium Buzzz that I ordered online. Well, with all that said, when I got home from work tonight I had a voicemail from the Chicagoland area. My Buzzz has been found. My friend in Chicago called up this kind man and arranged to meet him next week to play a round and get my disc back. Can't wait to travel to Chicago this summer and throw that mother again!

Thank you kind sir...

I just found this thread and my disc has been gone for a looooong time but if I can get this one back I will die happy. I lost a 168g GL Halo at orchard park in Hillsboro OR late in 2010. My first legal ace disc and on the toughest hole on the course. I now throw mostly max weight and would probably not bag it if I got it back but I MISS THAT DISC. No one should have to lose their first disc or their first ace disc ya know?
