Dying for A Cause

For those of you that know about the local dying event: Dying for a Cause...The deadline for an entry has been extended to Nov. 30th.

For those of you that are not on facebook here:

"Its time to officially fire up this years "Dying for a cause". You dye a new disc and get it to us. We will post all the discs on our facebook page and vote with "likes". After the vote we will auction all the discs off. 100% of the money will go to buy Christmas gifts for a local needy family. If your disc sells we will replace it with a equal value new disc of your choice. If it doesn't sell you can get it back (you pay shipping). Voting is a 2 part system with points for both votes and money raised. Winner will receive 5 new production discs of there choice. 2nd place will receive 2 new production discs of your choice. Everyone who's disc sells will receive a equal value disc. You can dye whatever you like but it must be family appropriated. Please make sure to include contact info with your disc. Last year we were able to provide gifts for a family of 7. Help us make a difference for a family in need."

"We have decided to extend the deadline for dyeing for a cause disc entry's until the end if the month. Entry's must be here by the 30th and voting will begin on 12-1. There will be 3 days for voting followed by a 5 day auction. Please help pass the info on and remember 100% of the money will go to a family in need. Thanks."

@Bigmanbailye - After seeing the huge amount of interest, I will certainly post any other events that they host. They have had some cool little events and contests in the past, and have received some surprise visits from some big-timers like "The Yeti" himself!

I think this local little disc store has just begun to discover the power of social (internet) media. If you visit them on facebook tell them you heard about them on DGCR...maybe they can send some business to you dyers or...????

+1 my clock dye Im about to do would be perfect for this! too bad I dont have my stencil yet and given how complex it is I dont wanna rush it.

I heard about the contest somewhere in the Okthrowberfest thread. I rushed an entry this weekend and then the day after I sent it out I saw that they are extending the deadline for entry ..... may have to rush another

It was a rush job but I got my discs[2] in the mail, anyone else besides DTP get in on this. I like the idea of an auction for charity. I did one disc for general "marketability" and one for fun.
