Cornholio of the Day, 9.9.2010

Ellison Park - Rochester, NY

Hole #15
360'
Par 3

View from the tee:

The course map (and tee sign) shows the fairway as a tunnel shot through a mess of trees:

...confirmed in the aerial course map:

I'm going to play it safe and throw a Z Buzzz down the pipe, probably followed by a Z Buzzz and (hopefully) a short putt.

I'm going to run it with an Echo Star Katana... but I'll keep it low so it does it's straight and glidey thing that I love so much.. and by low I mean just a few feet off the ground... it's real pretty like that

Flick roller? I don't know, maybe Buzzz, Buzzz, Wizard for par.

I looked through the course pics, and it's pretty course.

Super tight gap through those trees....
Gotta play it safe on this one. And yes, a nice/interesting looking hole/course for Hole of the Day!

I'd probably start with an Avenger SS and try to go as straight as I can for as far as I can... then upshot with a Roc and finish off with a Wizard. I can totally see this hole giving out many bogeys... those trees look like they could be brutal!

This is my "home course" it's 40 minutes away but it's the easiest drive (naples is closer buy only 9 holes and it's tight lakeside driving)

Hole 15 isn't nearly as tight as it looks, and playing it safe isn't nearly as rewarding as it looks.

Throw a fairway driver at least, and put it high enough so it fades left onto the "secondary fairway" Then you've got a straight approach with only 1 potential problem tree in the way, but beware the fast green, it's all sandy and there's a slight drop off behind the basket.

2's are really hard to come by on this hole, 3's feel good and 4's are really really common.
