Underside dyeing.

Has anyone ever tried dying the underside of a disc? Like dying your name and number onto the bottom of a disc? Or just dying the edge of a disc with that info? I dont know how interested I would be in trying full dyeing out, but i might try for the sake of a permanent name attached to my disc.

I've done a few for a buddy. He wanted peace symbols on the underside. After about 2 months the X XL of his had bled threw the plastic all the way threw to the front. The idea was to keep them easy to find, but its hard to find now...

I bought a Starlight Destroyer from a guy because he was disappointed by its over stability.
He had his name and # written in Sharpie on the underside of the rim. I tried to remove the name so people wouldnt call him if I lost it, but even with repeated, liberal soakings with Goof Off, the writing was still strong.
Now, I do have to mention this is that dayglow yellow/ bright green colored Star plastic, so black ink is very visible.

So I dyed just the rim with dark green dye.
Worked like a champ.

My first rim job.

For my nephew I dyed a Autobots logo on the top of a Star Wraith and a Decepticons emblem on the bottom. He's been playing with it for a few months and there have not been any bleeds and it still looks good.

I usually dye the underside of champ plastic because it's easier to work with, in my limited experience.
I have also used black dye on the underside of purchased, used discs to hide the stupid stuff that some people seem to think is cool. Then again, maybe that's why they got rid of them. Hmmmm...
