Too much?

I keeo reading about beating your disc in to break them in. I have a DX cheetah that I''ve had for a while and is beat in pretty well. To the point where theres little chunks of plastic coming of the edges. I play in a fairly wooded course, so hitting trees is a common thing. My question is can a disk be too beat up?

Yes I believe they can. However if you know how it will fly and it does what you need it to then use it. I hate The cheetah, Very time I've tried to throw one it turns over and rolls about 100ft to the left. I like the way most of my disc fly with alittle use. After they get to beat up I pull them out of my bag because I do not like the way they fly anymore.

If you know how it flies while beat, then don't get rid of it. But if you can't control it, then it's time to retire it. I have a Roc that has atleast two gashes in the edge of the rim, it has hit brick walls on full power drives, but I can still predict it's flight and put it online with a basket 300 feet away. It's going to stay in my bag until it is good for nothing.

My beat cheetah is my forehand roller, actually its my only roller right now and the only roller I can get any consistency from.

I have a DX Destroyer that went super flippy on me in a week. I still carry it in my bag because sometimes I need that kind of flip. At the same time it is getting so flippy that it is having a hard time coming back anymore. So sad, but there is still a place for it in my bag.

If you want to see a disc that is too beat up I will sell you a Cheetah DX that a guy sent me in a lot off of ebay. I told him that wasn't worth $1 and got my money back for that one and 5 others. It has a warp in it and chunks taken out everywhere, and when you throw it it doesnt spin straight it spins like an ellipse!

I've got an XD putter I use for flick approaches, it use to be dead straight when flicked for an upshot, it's getting so beat up now that the only thing I can predict is it's flight path is getting really unpredictable anymore...sad it has been a good friend, but it will have to be retired soon...real soon

I agree that the only way a disc is too beat up is if it's not predictable anymore. When, or even if that ever happens depends on the disc and the thrower. I'd think it will happen eventually with a Cheetah, but it depends on how far you're throwing it. Chances are it will make a pretty good roller once it gets too understable to throw for most air shots.
