Where's a good 6-8 hr drive away?

I'm getting Friday and Saturday off work for NYE weekend. Since I don't drink or do heavy drugs, the night has almost no meaning to me. So, I will be driving SOUTH to go play some golf.

How far south am I going to escape even looking at the snow, let alone moderate temps?

Anyone wanna get a round in?

Google maps tells me it's 8.5 hours from Warren OH to Charlotte, lots of good courses there and much better weather than up here in the snow.

Looks like you have to get to mid Georgia or S Carolina to hit the mid 30s, northern Florida for the 40s.

there is snow down through southern Virgina and Maryland, but it may be gone for NYE. I think you may have to try the Carolinas

Yeah, once I looked at the weather.com map, I saw the temps. Anyone in NC wanna play? I'll probably be hitting the Charlotte area.

scratch that. I AM hitting the Charlotte area for NYE weekend. So long as I can get someone to watch my dog for me. Anyone wanna show me around town for the weekend? I'd like to get at least 2 rounds on Fri, 2 on Sat and 2 on Sun, but if the weather doesn't allow us that's cool too.

Seems like either:

• Bowling Green, Kentucky
• Charlotte, North Carolina
• Richmond, Virginia

would be areas with lots of quality courses that are within your desired distance. Hopefully a local (I'm outside Baltimore, so can't help) can give you some idea of what typical early-January weather might be like in these areas.

Lemme do an hour or so of looking at courses on the map. What courses do you recommend? I want to hit the gems and if there's a diamond in the rough that no one seems to play for some reason, I wanna go there too.
