Crossfit

Any Crossfitters in the house?

I've been on it for over a month and joined a Xfit gym last week. So far so good. I like the variance in workouts and non-specialization they preach. Of course, you have to be careful. These guys are eager to throw you to the wolves in the name of being a better Crossfitter.

I had to tell them up front, I don't give a **** about being good at Crossfit. I'm a disc golfer, and that's the only reason I'm there.

Here is my first 32 days. Mostly bodyweight exercises.

My schedule is M,T, Th, F @ Crossfit. Sunday Yoga.

Not right now it doesn't. Hibernation/Strength and Conditioning season here in Iowa.

I did P90X last winter and definitely saw results. You just have to make sure you start working on your DG skills as soon as possible in the spring.

The thing about P90x I realize now is, it's the same each week really. I was having a hard time getting back into it this year...that's when I found Crossfit.

I'm realizing now P90X has a bit more emphasis on looking good, where Crossfit is about performance. 1hour+ for P90, <45 minutes for a Crossfit workout is also a huge plus.

Get a recovery drink and a foam roller. No pain no gain!

I do Optimum Nutrition 2:1:1. Your recovery should get better.

As far as your game goes, you'll throw a little farther and have more legs.

My brother is a level 1 certified trainer and he got me into it. I'm in between gyms (long and boring story) so I haven't done it in a couple months, but I'm trying to save some $$ and pay for a year membership at a crossfit gym.

I love the competition aspect, I hate going into a gym and just lifting weights because I get bored. I love trying to beat my previous times and just making a game out of it. Also the more complex movements/lifts that don't just work a single muscle but a larger group really make for efficient workouts. Before I started I would have never believed that a 15-20min. workout could be so complete.

not trying to sound like an ad...though I will admit it's the most fun I've ever had working out.

I don't do p90x, but I have been working out pretty hard 4-5 days a week before work. As long as I stretch really well after the workout, and a little before the round, being a little sore doesn't seem to affect my game very much at all.
