What do you miss more, long birds or pars?

For some reason i seem to make more 20ft+ shots to save par than the same shots for birds, id say at least 3to1.

Mu guess is you're concentrating more on the par saves. On a birdie try, you know you can save par if you miss. I haven't really kept track, but I think I might be the same way.

i think its Eye of the tiger(woods) the only problem is i cant seem to get it unless its a gotta have. Some time i get it when im on the last hole and i need to get the bird to stay at par or sometimes when my partner misses their bird putt but i just cant force that kinda focus it only comes instinctivly. any tips?

Interesting question, I think that I actually make an equal number of both of these. Maybe it is because I really need that birdie to make up for earlier mistakes in the round or because I try to treat every putt the same. I don't think I will every forgive myself for missing a 6 ft birdie putt on the 18th hole of White Clay, DE. I was only playing with friends but it cost our team the round...aahhhhh. I guess that will only encourage me to practice more and not take those short ones for granted.

putting has got to be the worst part of my game. i'm a left handed thrower and my putts usually fade off to the right. i don't really practice my putting very much though. i think i'll do that more this summer.

it does really suck to throw the first one the length of a football field and land 15-20 ft from the goal then walk all the way down there and miss the putt.

Well since putting is my weakness right now I would say that I miss more of my birdie shots than my par shots. Since for some reason making that par shot seems like it is needed more. Last week I played 80+ holes on about 30% I had a shot at a birdie and made 2 that I can think of. One was one of my best putts ever at 65+ ft.

i definitely make more par save putts than birdie putts from the same distance. my putting seems to be improving slightly, i am pretty confident from 20ft and in, and starting to make some 20-30ft putts a little more often.
