I realize that you can't necessarily speak on retailers' behalf, but do you think there will be a way to differentiate the new runs when buying them?

If you look on the previous page they list a couple things that have been changed on the new runs...

One small easy distinction will be the addition of "Proton" in the hotstamp indicating the polymer line, just like the Vector has.

That's awesome that the new Ions don't have that tooling, it rubs against my knuckles whenever my Soft flexes during the hit.

I guess what I'm saying is, what if I buy one online and can't view my specific disc - how will I know I'm getting one from the new run rather than old stock? Do you think retailers will sell them seperately from the old runs?

You're going to probably want to order from a good online retailer who can discern the difference and verify for you by phone/email that you are getting one of the new runs.

Personally I know that this kind of thing drives retailers nuts(Medium or soft? do you want a stamped soft Ion? A blank? A pre-stamp soft Ion? And now, the new run, smooth bottom soft Ion?)...But they're not making the discs for retailers.

Yea, we want variety man!

Any chance someone could just tell us a few places that have some low weight ones in stock? Marshall Street has 173's and above, but thats no good for me. I want to find a sub 170 new version... (where to score this? )

They don't make them below 170. Only the first runs were.

Me, too. I have been conducting a campaign of persistent whining -- feel free to join in. If our whining becomes sufficiently annoying, perhaps MVP will make a batch of light Ions just to shut us up . . .
