The microbead looks tooled into the rim to me. Can't think of how that would happen unintentionally and be the same in every disc. That said it seems like a non issue.

It definitely looks like part of the mold, but I agree that it doesn't seem to be a stabilizer or anything of the sort.

I can think of a way, when the overmold is injected into the mold the hot overmold softens the core and pushes it back a little bit, then when the overmold cools it ever so slightly shrinks. If it were intentional then it would be even more noticeable on the 2nd run ions that have the slightly lower seated overmold, I see nothing on any of my four 2nd runs.

I'm sure it has an effect on stability, like flash does on drivers.

wouldnt they be X-outs then? i feel like someone would say **** theres a bump around the ENTIRE disc, no way we can sell this to our customers for MSRP....definitely feels and looks intentional.

This was just on the axis wasn't it?
And its definitely too uniform to be an accident

Hey, I'm not saying that's what it is, I'm saying that's what I think it is. It's so unnoticeable that you actually have to concentrate hard with the disc 3 inches from your face. I'm sure it does have some affect on the flight, as would a 1/64'' nick that's 1/100'' deep. It's just that it's so minimal that it's unnoticeable.

I can see it on my eclipse Ion and vector too.

I believe what you are looking at is the occasional hairline where the overmold plastic meets at the core as it is flowing when molded as a manufacturing occurrence. This is a normal process and does not have a negative impact on performance. Beyond the chemical bonding process, separation of the materials will not occur post production.

I just noticed today when I got my new Vector and Axis that they appear to be larger diameter than a Roc.. I haven't looked that up, but I'm sure that's the case. Would that make them the largest conventional disc golf disc?
