The Sharpie "dye"

I admire all you artist and dyers out there. I want to get into the dye game, and I had a record player laying around and all I had was sharpies. It was fun putting the progressive pattern on.

But, how will the Sharpie last on a disc? I know if I write my name on a disc I can 100% acetone it off right away, but if the inks been on there for an extended amount of time it's "set in" to the disc and not coming out.

First off, that looks sweet. And your experience with fading sharpie ink is what came to my mind. If it's a thrower, well, than it's a sweet looking thrower and will probably get damaged as the disc wears in... if it's a wall hanger - i bet this is just as good as dye. looks sweet, lines are sharp. actually, those sharp lines will stay sharp. Dye will fade slowly and lines become blurry over the years. So as a wall hanger, this would hold up to time i would bet.

They went with the copper/gold stamp. Plus, they were the only sharpies I had around...

I dig the colors on that! It's got a kinda surf & sand feel to it. Nice looking disc!

I've found that Sharpies or worm dye pens have a way of finding the highs and lows on a disc, or whatever they are spinning on, because of the firm tip.

BTW, I have a GL River in my bag with Sharpie artwork on it in multiple colors, and fading is very minimal.

Peace,
-Jeff
