No no no, you're misunderstanding me. I don't mean if you agree with the # of discs or not.

If I rate...i dunno...a Flip City review, even though I've never played it, thumbs up - how does this help? What if some information wasn't entirely accurate but the review was well written? I'm validating an incorrect or inaccurate review and giving it credibility.

Only thumbs up or down the reveiws for courses you've played so that you can say "these are well-grounded thoughts about this course" or not - regardless of whether you agree with the rating.

Being eloquent doesn't equate to being helpful.

I read a review and based on the review I decide not to play the course, you're saying I should not give it any thumbs?

I should give it a thumbs up because it gave me the information I needed to decide whether or not to play it.

I think this might be the case for some of our users that are online the most.

As good as an idea it is, some people will not be on board or honest, and lazily click just to access the site quicker.
I don't ever logout either, I was just using that turn of phrase.

What I mean is, use that handy 'home' link at the top on a daily basis, and vote on the most recently submitted reviews.

I don't think timg should force this requirement. I think we should get off our lazy a$$ and do it ourselves, in the interest of making this site the best we can.

Then we can go back to arguing whether the Roc or the Buzzz is better.

Reviewer B - Takes an overview approach, pointing out only the details that signify that particular course.

Reviewer C - The homeboy. Reviews only the ones he loves. Generally locals.

Reviewer D - And yes, they exist. The haters. Need I say more?

Personally, I am a B type. I have not the patience to read a novel when looking for a course. If that is one of only a few reviews, I will read it. But if there are multiple reviews for a course, I would rather read the brief input of many, than spend my time reading "Of Mice and Men".

I can honestly say, I have given very few thumbs down. The criteria for votes is whether it's helpful. Most reviews are helpful, just some are more so than others.
I would settle for a cursory spelling/grammar check, proper punctuation, and a few line breaks for readability. As long as you cite reasons, hate on the course all you want, just don't make my eyes bleed to learn about it.

Come one man, you've played (and closely observed) a large number of courses over a wide area. Your reviews and perspectives are a lot more valuable than a handful of 's might be painful!
No, no contest, I just don't like taking notes and taking 20 minutes to write a review just to see 5 thumbsdown in 10 minutes.

Here I will give you a if I like it

I can thumb up a course I have not played, if it helps me prepare for what to expect and if it gives me information I did not know, then it is helpful.

As far as my Charlotte reviews, I can write a good review, and still not add anything useful, there are several good reviews of each course.

Just post all 9 reviews at once at a high traffic time, so they will be off the homepage the quickest.

as dave242 pointed out, I need 400 thumbsdown to actually worry about it, but it is just a personal preference.
Why do the work if people are just going to be jerks? Do you want to work for a boss that always tells you are less than helpful, or one that gives a little praise to let you know you are doing something well.

[prerube notices someone hovering over him and looks up]

Hey, Prerube, how's it going? Did you get those cover sheets on your TPS reports? Good.

Just stopped by your cubicle to let you know you are doing a good work here at DGCR, and to keep it up. I don't want to keep you from doing those last 9 reviews, so I'm going into my office to drink coffee and read the paper for an hour.

I dunno man, If somebody has certain view of a course that may go against the masses, I want to know about it, I doubt any course could be considered a 5 disc course in everybody's opinion. Everybody likes different things in courses, some people like a challenge, some people like ace runs, some people like long bombs, some like... we obviously get the point, I think if you have a differing view that you should let us know, if somebody reading your reviews prefers the same things in a course they'll appreciate it.
