Match Play any one else have thoughts?

My friends and I have been playing match play style for the last 6 months. If you play points to hole winner and only on par or better, one tie all tie it can be fun. I also have noticed that your up shot game gets a little tighter, your almost always going for it on your second shot instead of playing safe.

On the other hand it will mess up your tournament play if you don't slow yourself down. It's a really good way of speeding up a large groups game besides. And it makes it a little more fun when you have players of varied skill levels playing together.

And if you want a little excitement you can always turn it into a skins match.

Match play also forces you to "go for it" a lot more.

I'm not a big fan of it. I like to play the traditional way & finish the hole out with a putt. My own preference.

I have not tried match play, I'm with DCB18, I like to play my own score in stroke play.

I would like to see a professional "ryder cup" style disc golf tournament, I think that would be really cool to watch and/or make a DVD out of. I like watching the pro's play, they are so talented. The Clash Series is great.

Match play is fun every once in a while. It puts WAY more emphasis on "who's out".
