I think the Innova Competition bag is a great bag to start out with! Lots of room, and the price is great! I’ve had two Revo Carolinas, and they are wonderful bags if you’re willing to spend the money on them, but I’m still not ever willing to give up my Innova Comp! From what I’ve heard, the Voodoo bags are also very nice, but I would never order from a company that cant even set up a web store! My 13 year old son could do it! Gorilla Boy bags are also very nice, and they seem to have a huge fan base around here, but I also refuse to wait two months to receive something I purchase! I don’t care if they’re handmade with platinum inlays!

In my opinion, I think you should get the cheaper Innova Comp bag, and wait until the 2nd runs of the Grip backpack comes out!

If you want something that will last. These are the bags I have as of now and I will only list the ones made out of Cordura. Just that alone will tend to make a bag last forever.
Here are my favorite ones.
1. Voodoo Karma bag: I hold 22 discs in the main compartment and 3 in the putter pocket. As of now this is my fav, but if I get a Grip bag, that may change.
Pro's: Heavy gauge Cordura, with a even heavier gauge around the bottom of the bag. Huge side pocket, with sub pockets inside. The sub pocket fit everything I carry, so I don't even have anything in the large side pockets. Large drink holders with drainage at the bottom, plus small drinks will not fall through the bottom. Very nice internal frame/tub. The hole thing slips into the bag and keeps the discs from rubbing against the bag. Nice padding against your back. Huge opening for the main compartment (I love this).
Negatives: Has a zippered cover over the main disc compartment, but no real rain flap. No clips or loops to hang a chair or umbrella. Zippers could be a little higher gauge, but second only to the Revo bag.
2. Revolution Carolina bag: Carries approx 18 discs in the main compartment and 2 in the putter pocket.

Pro's: High gauge Cordura and a thick rubber/fabric bottom. Very high gauge zippers. has a rain flap that covers your putters. Velcro loops for an umbrella or chair. Great internal frame.
Cons: the main disc opening is too small. If you carry the max amount of discs, you will find it hard to get the discs on the side out. The bottle holders have one strap at the bottom, so if you use a small bottle (approx 12oz). It will constantly fall through the bottom.
3: Phenix Core bag. I won't spend much time on this bag. Suffice to say, it's a nice bag with limited storage and it has no internal frame. Made out of Cordura and you can have the bottom sprayed with a rubber type bed liner.
4: Gorilla Boys Kong bag: It's not a bad bag, but the frame is not good (pvc tube and a thin plastic sheet for the sides), it fell apart rather quickly (frame). Limited storage, it's about the same as the Phenix bag. Small gauge zipper. The drink holders have no hole for dranage, but I hear that was fixed. The fit and finish of the bag is so so. If you root for the little company, this is your bag. Oh, this is also made of Cordura, but nothing to protect the bottom. Overall a good bag, but not my favorite.

So, for ME the Voodoo Karma bag is the best out of the bunch. But since I don't play in the rain and don't carry a chair. I can live with it's short comings. Now the Karma and Revo bags are very close when it comes to quality, maybe just a slight edge to the Revo bag. Due to the fact their Cordura is a thicker gauge and the zippers are as well, but the opening drives me nuts! (too small). I tell ya, if I only carried around 15 discs. I would have a hard time choosing between the two, but I carry 25, so the Karma bag comes out on top for ME.
One other option is to wait for the Grip bag to come out or you can go uber disc golf junkie and buy the Golf Mahal. The people that own them, swear by them.

Well good luck on your disc golf bag hunt!

Peace!

Can't believe anyone didn't mention Mystery Ranch Golf Mahal, as it is THE BEST bag on the market. Just do a search on here. Who cares what people think of your gear, use what you like.

Yeah SC is definitely rebel country and Ive also been called a yank for years but I have a good reason since I'm originally from New York. I like to consider myself more of a southerner now since I've been in the south for 14 years now but since I wasent born here I guess I'll never be a true southerner. I'm not sure why Oklahoma seems ass backwards because you my friend are no yank.

Thank you so much Rescue that was extremely informative and above and beyond what I was looking for. Nice work good sir! And thanks to everybody elses help. Im no Ken Climo but I've been playing for almost 3 years and would consider myself a decent player who just wants a dependable bag that has the option to carry more than the 22 I fit into my innova deluxe bag. I don't really care what people think of my gear and if they don't think I'm the caliber of player worthy of a nice bag then the hell with them. I just don't want to turn around in a year or two and have to buy another bag.

I recently got the Latitude 64 bag and it is probably the best designed bag for me. I have had revolution carolina, dual packs, innova, gorilla boy bags, and a phenix bag and I was never quite satisfied with them. They were all good packs but just didnt work for me. The Lat bag I have no complaints and it has everything I need in a bag. Just think about what you want to carry (number of discs, water bottles, towels, etc) and see which bag seems to address those priorities the most.

Mystery Ranch Mahal is awesome. It is much more comfortable than any quads, and is versatile as all hell. It can be huge and hold a ton of discs, 30+, or you can close up the two side pockets like I do and have a super comfortable bag that holds a more reasonable amount of discs. I'm carrying around 16 total right now. It also happens to be made in the USA with a lifetime warranty. Yes, it costs a ton of $$$, but the OP asked which bag is the best. There it is. For now. Hopefully someone else will come up with some new ideas and make an even better bag.

I'm starting to believe that I'm the only person on the planet with a Spike Hyzer bag, which is too bad. The thing's indestructible, has tons of room and pockets, rain fly, metal clips, huge zippers... And a cooler.

Worth a look. I highly recommend it.
