"Keeping the Nose Down"

Noob here - I'm stalling out on my drives at about 250'; usually sailing higher than I want, losing speed, and dropping left. Any techniques for keeping the nose down while driving? I'm RHBH. That approach (the going high/stalling) seems to work nicely for approaches, but clearly hurts distance on my drives ... at this point I can throw a thumber further than my BH.

it would be helpful to know what discs you are throwing...

2 critical things to keep nose down.

1) keep your wrist locked down in the handshake position.

2) weight shift forward and over your plant foot. Your follow through should carry you forward off the tee, especially on straight and hyzer shots.

I don't care how many fingers I put under the rim. my grip noses down effortlessly with the disc in the muscle pad under my thumb & two fingers under the rim.

One of the biggest problems with nose angle is grip, followed by how you pull across the body.

BroD knows all and speaks all. I had nose down issues and read on throwing like how you shake a hand.

trying to keep your chin on your forward shoulder (right shoulder for rhbh) will help keep your arm in plane with your shoulders.

Shrug your shoulder, keep your chin on it, and start with slow stand stills.

(do this as a practice drill)

To preface: I am a noob.

What has finally started keeping my nose down is throwing at a point 20-30 feet in front of me on the ground. This could be terrible advice and I am sure if it is, someone will point it out.

I'm a noob and I still have some trouble keeping the nose down, but #2 really helped me. As soon as I started getting my weight forward my throws improved.

Good Luck
