Of the rounds I've kept score on, I've found that, by far, my best rounds are the ones where I don't care about my score. If I go out trying to score my best I rarely do. If I go out to show a friend who hasn't played before what DG is all about, or if I'm in the second round of a tournament and don't have any chance of winning anything I'll play awesome.

it's already been said, but you have to learn how to laugh stuff off. even the best players make terrible shots/mistakes sometimes. the difference between them and everyone else is - they make less of them, and they keep their **** together after so that it doesn't ruin the rest of the hole/round.
the mental game I've developed from playing DG has helped me in many other aspects of life, honestly. I know it sounds like some corny BS, but it's true. I had no real competitive experience from playing other sports before playing DG. Learning the focus/patience/determination/etc required to play a good round of golf has made a definite, positive impact on my life.
