jump putt question

If you are 8 paces out. can you jump putt as long as you come down behind your mini?

NO. you must remain with atleast one point touching the ground and show balance.

It depends on what you are thinking. First, you must have one point in contact at release. So if you are thinking you will leap into the air, release, and land behind your marker, then no.

Second, you must have a point in contact within 30 cm of your mark on the line, so if you are thinking you will release from a few feet back, leap, and land behind your marker, then no.

Third, if you are thinking you can release from 30 cm back, leap, and land behind your marker, then yes, you can!!

not all of those putts look legit. I didn't completely see the situation that comes into question, but it seemed like a team (henceforth Team C) in a 3-way play off had the last shot (for deuce). The other teams (henceforth Team A and Team B) missed their 2nd shots. The first player for Team C missed his birdie try. The second player jump putted from 8 paces out (never asking anyone to step it off), hitting the putt, and coming to rest past his marker. He picks up his marker and is stoked because he thinks they won. The other 2 teams call him for a foot fault. First time he had been called on it. He puts his marker back down and the TD comes over to figure out what is going on. The TD decides to let him re putt after stepping off the distance from basket to mini. He goes for his next putt and he jump putts again, coming to rest behind his mini. He made the putt again, but there was A LOT of controversy as to if he could do that or not. I was just curious.

They're not supposed to. But C-3 is legit. The video will be updated to show which ones are legal and which ones are not once the Rules Committee completes their review.

yeah C3 is legit because the disc was released before the guy jumped. After he released, the guy jumped up and landed behind his mini showing balance before he walked to the basket.
