Friend told me about her putting clinic with Des and Juliana years back. They said:

(1) point your toe at the basket;
(2) aim at a link on the far side of the basket and slightly to the right; and
(3) finish with your finger pointing at the basket.

I have definitely found that aiming at a link on the far side of the basket helps me on short putts, regardless of any other style differences.

It's been awhile. I think my putting is a lot better.

One thing I've noticed is that I have a hard time aiming and focusing on form at the same time. What I've started doing is drilling form separately from honing my aim. Does anyone else do that?

from my experience the aim is more important than the form inside 30'. as long as i am seeing my spot well and staying locked in then the disc seems to go in, even if the line is a little off or there is some wobble.

Unsatisfied with my putting, i use practice to work on specific aspects of my putt- currently hip movement and kicking out vs kicking the back of the knee. For me, especially when pushing the comfort zones, im more concerned with lines and windows than i am about hitts and misses.

Kinda.
I tell people to work on form first, aim second.
If you're comfortable and fundamentally sound first, the disc will start going in the basket.

More wrist and less arm works better for me. Noticed today that whennI get tired I use more arm, and throw more of a hyzer release. If I am fresh and snap my wrist more the putter flies straighter, and my putts hit chains more often. It is a fine line, but I can feel the difference.

Best drill is like a ladder.. you line about 6 discs up and if you miss you have to start all over..

I practiced putting like crazy over the past two weeks to implement what I learned at the Am World Doubles Clinic and I developed a combination ladder drill and four corners drill. I have 8 putters I line up with one five paces out, 2 putters at 7 paces, 2 at 9 paces, 2 at 11 paces, and 1 at 13 paces. I putt until I successfully sink all the putters out to 11 paces, and then run the one at 13 paces, but move to the next station regardless of whether the last one goes in. Otherwise, I start over at that station if I miss. Takes a while to complete all 4 stations, but my putting is much improved, and it showed this past weekend at Texas Womens. :-)

Today I finished in time to play 18 on my practice course. Previous record was 2 under. Finished 8 under today. :-)

I'm big on Straddle Putting.

I'm Straddle Putting 100% of the time. For me this putting style helps me to control my arm and it's easier for me to do the heel to toe weight shift.Usually if I miss it's a height related issue. When I do have to go to a staggered stance for a putt that I can't do straddle,I know in the back of my head that I have great arm control, thus making it easier to make those uncommon putts.

Everyone that I come across ask me why I Straddle Putt all the time.I tell them because it is the style that gives you the best balance and control. It just takes time to learn the shift and to get the power into your putts.

So when I'm helping newer players with putting at the local course I highly stress to learn to straddle putt as it builds your arm control and balance.

My style of straddle putt is similar to Marcus Kallstrom's,but without the painful to watch pre-putt routine.

So just practice, practice and practice...the straddle putt
