Was there a rule cited when said spotter was told not to move his chair if it came up again?

Although after this I think that it is a good idea that if anyone is working or playing in a tournament they should have a rule book with them. It would have helped everyone in this situation.

I think a TD with an iota of common sense would've helped a lot more than a rule book in that situation. Telling his spotters to leave their crap all over the fairway even when asked to move it by a tourney participant would not be fixed by the rule book.

Ding ding ding, we have a winner! I am constantly amazed (or frustrated) by the number of tournament players that don't carry a rule book, but think they know the rules.

I have always carried one when I play but never when I spot. Of course think there is a difference between someone who is there to find discs and a Tournament Official. I have not passed an officials exam and very little right to interject my opinion into anything that would affect someone's score.

After talking to the spotter it turns out there was a little more to the story. End result he was not going off of an official ruling by a TD of the event. He was told after the round that if anything like this come up again have the player throw a provisional and consult the TD.

But thanks I am glad I got clear answer.
