Discraft X plastic... Did it change?

So recently I have picked up a brand new x nuke in a trade and then went to our local shop and to my suprise discraft started making x forces (which is amazing for added grip and glide for the winter... I seriously was so pumped about this) but what I noticed on both brand new discs is that the plastic seems to be a much higher quality then last year. I compared it to some other x plastic discs and man this stuff has a swirly marble look to it and it seems a lot stiffer. It reminds me of a tackier legacy pinnacle plastic or maybe a a stiffer icon plastic.

So my question is did Discraft change this x plastic?

To me this plastic feels like it will be more durable and as far as my nukes are concerned this plastic flies more stable out of the box then the old.

I have an older X Comet, and a new X XL, and they are different. The new stuff is gummier, and grippier. Seems more durable too.

Yes it has.

I have older X Comets and the newer X Comets. The newer runs are for sure more durable and stable.

They still eventually get flippy, but when they start out they are more stable.

makes sense. i picked up an X Comet mid summer and it was almost identical to my used Z Comet. it hasn't been beating in too fast either. I will play some Comet-only rounds this spring to try and beat the crap out of it.

Maybe I'm way out of line here but I threw the force yesterday and nuke and I don't know the longevity or how this plastic will stand up to beatings but this plastic maybe be better then any other companies "grippy" plastic. Even better then the tourney and gl stuff that's out! And the extra glide this plastic gives is AMAZING! I would say it takes the glide number up a point or so. It just floats longer!!!

I'm suprised more people aren't all over this...?????

If they want to start taking back market share then make this new X in everything!

Plus I really like paying 10 bucks a disc instead of 15. Thats the question, does making their cheaper stuff better hurt their sales of ESP? I say it probably will but they will sell a lot more discs overall and customers will be happier to buy more.

I will have to make a trip to GGGT one day soon and see if this new X is any different than the X nuke I had since last season. That one is a pop-top, super grippy, super gummy plastic but it is not durable by any means. But that X Nuke goes for days. Much longer out of box than an ESP.
