Anyone else not feelin' Wahoo love?

I tried out a Wahoo today after seeing it at the local store. I was attracted by the 6-point glide rating hoping it would be very floaty. But, throwing it side-by-side with my Archon and brand new Nuke, the Wahoo drops like a brick and doesn't get that great of distance (for me, atleast). Anyone else have this problem?

I had one, I would set it on a slight hyzer, and let it rip, always got a nice S curve.

...well, not "always". There was this one time...blah blah blah... now it floats in the middle of the lake, and I have nothing to retrieve it with.

...it's almost cruel that it floats. It's like it is laughing at me.

^^ This. I actually stay away from floating discs because I KNOW they are going to end up in the middle of the lake, and I'll have everyone there to see it mocking me the rest of the round. I have played a few courses where you play the same water hazard multiple times, or go around a hazard. How horrible would it be to play a tourney and have a disc staring you in the face the whole time?

It think your problem is that, your wanting distance from it, and it's an approach disc.

Try throwing it after your Nuke or Archon, to approach the basket.

Wrong.

Ya know, i've only thrown a Wahoo once (prerubes). it was at a baseball field with a 350ft centerfield fence. I hit the wall with it about 3 feet high on a nice hyzer flip. That was shortly after it came out. For whatever reason i never threw it again after that.... *scratches head* Don't know why. that was an easy 350+.

My brother gets very good distance from his, and we have a couple of water-carry holes. So I tried it out and my first 8 throws resulted in one terrific drive, and 7 disasters. Couldn't figure out when or how much it was going to flip. (The 8th also resulted in a lost disc because, although it floated, I forgot about it).

I recently got another and am having better results. Not dazzling, but fairly good distance (for my noodle-arm), and at least my screw-ups are cheaper.
