R.I.P. XD-20 Plus Years of Loyalty

Today I cracked my DTW 166 XD, a true original. It has been in my bag for over 20 years, it always did what I asked....until that damn tree hit it today.

What disc in your bag has been there the longest, and how long?

My bar stamp Buzzz. I haven't been playing for long, but I bought this disc before it was special. 2 of my 5 aces are with it. It is still flies like it did when I got it.

Wow, I guess I didn't realize DTW has been around that long, but it makes sense.

Sorry to hear about your loss.

Shouldn't have asked the disc to hit the tree.

Yup, in 1990 you didnt have alot of choices for places to buy discs, DTW was one of the few, and also kind of the Innova outlet store, being so close to Daves molding facility in Cali.

Mark, who runs DGV now, which would be the current Innova outlet store, also worked there back in the day.

Blowfly. One of the first two new discs I bought when I started playing in 2000.

I'm still throwing my first Cryztal Buzzz. Got it just before my first tournament, about 2 1/2 years ago. It was my first mid. Its tough to hang on to a disc that long around here, with all the lakes (especially Fountain Hills).

I can't even begin to imagine having a disc in my bag for over 20 years?!

I know I have lost all of the discs that I originally started out with when I first played. I only had three or four back then. I think the longest tenured disc in my bag right now that I use regularly is probably my 172g Champion Boss. I've had it ever since the first day it was available to purchase.

I had to put my proto JK Aviar down Sunday after using it for over 12 years after the crack that had been in the rim for 2 weeks crept up into the flight plate during the second round at Hotlanta this weekend after hittting the chains and cage during the 2nd round.
I did give it a ceremonial tearing in half almost all the way through at the awards ceremony in front of the gallery.
That disc had helped me win several thousand dollars over the years from the moment I first bought it, including 50 bucks in a CTP contest when they first came out in which you got 3 shots at the basket for $5 along with your disc.
I always had a tradition of having Juliana sign it whenever I saw her at Events across the country when her signature had worn off - and as I told everyone who asked why I was having her sign this warped looking dirty piece of plastic i told them I have her re-sign it because it had her signature on it when I first got it.

It now hangs like upside down mouse ears over the in-laws picture in our family picture room much to the chagrin of my wife - who was told that since this was the "family room" my fallen family member was going to be displayed with the rest of the family.
