Boulder, CO

The City of Boulder, CO has apporved the building of a disc golf park. The story is cool because it talks about building a tournament caliber course. Currently (and surprisingly) Boulder only has one 9 hole course. If you know anything about Boulder then you know its a very eco-friendly, active, outdoorsy city.

The thing that got me were all of the discussion posts after the article from ignorant people who have no idea what disc golf is. I strongly believe in education of our sport, but there are people who will still view disc golf as a hippie/pothead/mess-around sport.

Personally I like the discussion post about overpriced tupperware... If that guy only knew...

Good news. My sister-in-law lives there. I'll have to visit.

Wow. He's a complete moron. There was one post I did giggle at.

"I keep misreading this as "disco golf course" which in my opinion would be a hell of a lot more fun."

It makes me sad that so many people are so completely ignorant of the sport.

Maybe someone should do a glow round with a disco theme.

John Bird would be my guess. He is quoted in the article. Speaking of which I saw him out mowing Bird's nest today. The grass is super high there.

I get the idea that it is about 2 years out. With all the prairie dog trapping and such. I would check Mile High's website for updates.
