Mind over Matter

We all have it. A little routine before tee off. I'm curious to know your mind set seconds before your drive. Perhaps you think negative so nothing but good can happen hah. Perhaps you just don't think and your a mindless disc golf machine. WHO KNOWS?!?! well I want to so post em up

What is your mindset/ string of thoughts/ attitude when on the pad?

Sure we all check the wind and try to avoid the tree that gets you everytime. I want to dig deeper into your grey matter and get psychological with it.

I reach deep into my psyche and clear it from all the negative vibes, man. I try and calm down, whether it was a long walk from the previous hole, or I did really bad the previous hole and want to clear it from my mind, or even if I did extraordinarily well. Just relax and try to throw it straight at the basket.

I try to ignore any obstacles on the hole, decide what I feel is the best path and then make that happen. I always feel I hit trees and other obstacles when I focus to much on not hitting them.

The ideal mindset for me would be to step onto the tee, visualize where I want my disc (which includes looking at the hole and choosing which path to take), focus on that line as I get ready, and then stop thinking completely and throw.

nah jk...
STEP 1- step up to the box
STEP 2 - rub my hand in the dirt on back of box
STEP 3 - step up to front and visualize where i want the disc to go
STEP 4 - walk to back of box, swing disc forward 3 times(superstition)
STEP 5 - rare back and bomb it
STEP 6 - clean release
*

*(occurs very seldom)step 7- watch disc hit chains, disc sits in basket...jump up and down, scream like little girl, grab sharpie

Defiantely clear the mind to visualize teh shot and know what disc I am visualizing that shot with. Then it is a matter for me of thinking, relax and get a good snap. I am still working on the form and so every throw is a chance to get better. Once I feel ready and that my snap seems ready to go then it is just step up and throw.
