Second this. I think I'd understand it a lot more if I saw some pics or a video of turbo putting.

I am a decent turbo putter when I actually apply myself, I use it when I am below the basket a good bit, there are a few holes at my course where this happens almost every round. Most of the time I just randomly sling it at the basket instead of trying though, lol.

i think what he is describing is holding it with the index/pinky around the first joint from the fingertip and the middle two fingers bent at the second joint with the disc resting on the middle section of the finger between the first and second joint. does that make sense?

some people use that grip but with the two inside fingers on the inside of the disc but that always seemed to cause release problems for me.

I will always throw a few turbo putts while practicing my putting. I have only had a handful of times during an actual round that I have had to throw one, but I can only remember missing one of those and that was from about 35'. FWIW, I grip it with all four fingers on the outside because I can't release it cleanly with fingers under the rim.

Point up with your index and pinkie, then make a C with your thumb ring and middle finger. two middle knuckles inside the rim. Thumb in the center of the bottom.

Doing it this way is very difficult. A more effective method spreads your two outside fingers wide so that the FIRST knuckle on the ring and middle finger are under the rim. This makes it easier to throw it kind of like throwing a ball. The jist is to grip it so that the pad of your index finger is the point of friction that generates the spin. Kind of difficult with your 2nd knuckles underneath. But hey whatever works for ya!

The Quest Turbo disc is illegal for PDGA sanctioned tournaments.
