Stings in the hand?
I've been trying to throw lefty BH, Im righty btw, although I'm ambidextrous with most things. After I throw lefty it stings in my hand for a minute and is gone. My discs(Banger GTs) don't go very far maybe 180' max and they turnover. I've been trying to keep my wrist down and elbow up, but they always turnover. Any idea what I doing wrong?

I throw with the other hand too and have never had that happen. I use one of those workout bands before a round to get loose though so I dont know if that helps

If I don't streach my hand before a round I get the "sting" for a few throws, even in my dominant hand.

That is the blood rushing into your hand. When I haven't thrown for a while, it does that to me for the 1st 6 holes or so. Just play more disc!!!!

Banger GTs are hard to get more distance than that FWIW, and they aren't that stable.

Theres definitely something wrong with my form lefty causing the sting, short D, and turnover. I got no problem getting my Banger GT out 270' righty and know theres still room for improvement. I remember getting the sting in my right hand when I began throwing RHBH, but not sure what I changed in my form to make it stop and throw further.

I've had that happen when playing in cold weather, just some stretching of the hand and wrist usually makes it go away.

Well the only thing I can think off is your either gripping the disc too hard or you are gripping it awkwardly/uncomfortably for your hand. I have a friend who gets blisters on his fingers. Big ones that crack open and bleed because they are always rubbing against the disc in some odd way on his release. He's got some killer drives though, it sounds like your problem might be similiar. |
