I've been perusing the local PIAS stores & they have some good used discs but nothing very special (ill post pics later). I think they are hip to whats valuable & grab it for themselves before it reaches the sale rack. While I was there checking out the used discs one of the employees was helping a dad & his kid pick out new discs & he knew everything about disc golf, the value of different plastics, molds, etc. Im sure he's making a killing on eBay. But you may get lucky!

I would be willing to bet that this is getting communicated across the company.

I've also noticed that the sales people are much more chatty about disc golf.

Tunnel Road PIAS? I was there a couple of weekends ago and made out pretty good (if their staff was hip to discs, they wouldn't have put a barely thrown Opto Pain in the used bin for $10.99!), but I've been there other times and it's been bare. If I lived in AVL (I'm out near Sylva), I'd stop there more often because I think it's a matter of beating other DGers to the good stock.

Yeah it was the Tunnel Rd. store & you may be right about getting beat out by the early bird (there's a lot of DG'ers in the Asheville area). I also stopped by the one in Greenville, SC on my way to Timmons. Here is what I got there the other day:
11x Teebird w/ some ink $6.95:
Old Millennium mid-range $0.95:
Well beat-in Magnet that just felt really good in my hands (buttery) $1.95:
& this no ink tie-die SW $6.95:
The prices are hard to beat. You just have to get lucky to get something good!

I've noticed that also. My dad and I like to go in about once a week to see if anything new came in and from when we first started this until now I have noticed that the sales people have seemed to gain quite a bit more knowledge about the game and discs. I'm glad I found my first run buzzz in the used bin before this starts spreading to all the PIAS stores. I just hope they start doing research to find the value of used discs because I love buying broken in discs but I'm not paying 50 bucks for them.
