They probably had the tee times in the mandatory players' meeting......feel bad for the people who missed the meeting and need to show up at 7am?

I saw that on the other thread. Bummer.....I was hoping it was only the derelicts who would suffer.

I imagine that they overlooked this scenario of running tee times on day 1 on an event that is filled.....and trying to be super accommodating so that everyone can join in the fun.

That was EXACTLY the scenario. The PDGA is a member-driven service, and the local folks put an extremely high premium on filling the event. If it was up to the PDGA, we would have cut off registration days if not a week before tonight. However, due to this external pressure our hands were tied and we were still calling folks and filling in vacancies from the waiting list until well after the player's meeting which resulted in the delays in tee times being posted.

It is my expectation that the rest of the week runs far smoother.

I asked a question about late check-ins of the world's committee months ago. I thought it was crazy to have players showing up to the course trying to get into the event and that it would strain the TD's...and also be unfair if say there were 5 open MA1 spots at Hornets but only 1 at RL and everyone went to RL.

I was told that the PDGA had made the determination to make the decision to allow people to show up to the course not the World's Committee.

To be fair communication might have changed since then...but initially it was the PDGA that determined when check-in would end allowing for waitlisted players to join.

Nah.......it is a well planned conspiracy to keep all the gangstas off the street. Make them all think they have an 8am tee time and they'll go to bed and not cause trouble. The plan lost its cred when Anthon didn't show up. Notice how he would have had an early tee time being in the A's?

Anyhow......good luck making tee time and good skill making lots of birdies this week.

Just a reminder that for the following divisions where there were pools, your unofficial online ratings are no longer accurate:

Pro
Open Division MPO Pools A,B
Masters Division MPM Pools D,E

Amateur
Advanced Division MA1 Pools K,L,M,N
Advanced Masters Division MM1 Pools P,Q
Advanced Grandmasters Division MG1 Pools R,Z

Every other division which did not have multiple pools should have accurate unofficial round ratings.

Remember, the next PDGA Player Ratings Update is scheduled for August 14th, and your official round ratings for your rounds WILL be accurate when the next ratings update goes through.
