Thanks for the new course update.

I am certainly looking forward to a spaztastic round out there one of these days!

Without knowing anything about the course save a quick peek at google maps, it's good to see that 18 holes were not crammed into a small space just to get 18 holes in the ground.

So you're saying Midwest Disc Golf wasn't involved?

@BionicRib, I lost a X Nuke. Poor footing caused me to knife my 4th shot into the lake on 5. This all happened after I re-teed on 5 because my drive went into the waters edge. I took a snowman.

@ Notroman, Camden II in the current layout was pretty weak. It's mind boggling that they would leave it in it's current pin positions (mostly shorts). When I think of Camden II, I don't think of shooting under par.

Haha! I figured someone would read between the lines on that post.

I found the following info on the course info page for warrington park

Designer(s): Mike Kutella

It should be updated to read "aka: spaz"

I was surprised to see the design they did for Rochelle was only nine holes but my faith was restored when I got on site. Park bathroom located in the middle of proposed #1 fairway with any shot that strays to the right going into the driving range parking lot. Baskets for #2 and #3 maybe 60' from a busy road with nothing in between but a drainage ditch. #8 fairway running down the right side of the driving range, hope no one with a bad slice is practicing.

Is there another new course in Rochelle?

I don't see it listed on the DGCR course map yet....not that there's anything wrong with that.

The Rochelle course is only a proposal at this time. I believe it will be voted on next board meeting later this month. Proposed location is here in Skare Park out towards Flagg Center. Unfortunately the nice part of the park north and east of the river is not available for course construction. Proposed budget for this is pretty slim so I wouldn't expect much, at least initially, if it goes.

I talked with the Rochelle Park District right before the Sinnissippi Open. They wanted me to design the course. I walked the park but it's not suitable for disc golf unless they do some clearing in the woods. I suggested that there wasn't enough room in the open space near the ball golf driving range and the busy road. I wanted no part of that. This is why Midwest Disc Golf has to go. I'd suggest leaving google feedback for Midwest Disc Golf.

Yeah, we were all very disappointed. So much so that we decided to hit up West Lake afterwards just to feel some pain. Not all of us shot under par at Camden 2... But we should have.

A side note, I found a Champ Starfire on #12 at West Lake park, and I thought, this looks familiar... Sure enough, it was the same disc I threw in the drink on #13 in June of last year! Ha!
