Anybody playing this coming Monday? I have the day off and Ashleigh doesn't so I'll probably get out and play somewhere. I don't mind driving, I was thinking Grey Fox, Joliet or Lemon Lake.

I get off at noon. I'd be down for Lemon Lake. I could be there by one-ish...

Edit: I'd really like most to play Grey Fox, but that's a bit of a hike for the late start. Plus I just got back from Madison this last w/e and I don't travel as well as you so .

Hay guys! I just recently passed by the YMCA in crystal lake and noticed a basket on the property. Anyone know anything about it? It's not listed as a course on DGCR. Is it new or just privite? Has anyone played it?

Nope, no idea. There are more and more of those 'private' quasi-courses all over the place. Especially away from the city where there is a lot of land.

Hey, WCG, are you down a blue umbrella perchance?

Less than a year old nine holer. Think Chains sold them the baskets and then there was some sort of conflict over course construction. Rec Director from the Y contacted Brett/Discontinuum looking for volunteer labor to do the install though I never heard how that went. Land is decent and I think I recall someone saying they enjoyed it but we're getting into cobweb territory there.

Course is private though playing it shouldn't be a particular problem. Some Ys offer reciprocal privileges if you're a member of any Y. There's also a free trial/guest program that one could use to gain access. Personally, I'd just walk in with a smile and chat them up.

Yes, Chains did have a part before they went OOB.

As usual here in the greater Chicagoland area, the property owners did not want a "quality" course. Although it would be nice, I'm not sure the Y has a real need for a quality course.

Chains is gone, huh. I didn't know that. Kind of a tough location; not much reason to travel to Crystal Lake for DG nowadays.
