Absolutely. I priced pvc in store and online and it was MUCH cheaper to go the wood route. However, pvc offers the ability to extend your rack much easier. Once you run out of space on the wood rack, you pretty much have to build another.

I'm sure that as they're going out of business, they scoured the web and decided to start constructing pvc disc shelves based on someone else's "plans" in an effort to save their business. That or it's a pretty obvious idea and they have been using it for a while and are now selling it off because they're going out of business.
