DGA Plastic Quality

First, yes I have read the other DGA threads, but there is nothing that I saw specifically discussing the plastic quality. People mentioned it in passing like "DGA has the best plastic out," but no explanation. So here is what I've found having just picked up a few DGA molds and falling in love with both the molds and plastic!

First: DGA plastic is superb and the reaction to it overall or lack there of is underwhelming.

Proline: Proline is super durable very much like ESP. It seems better than ESP to me though because it is tacky/gummy to touch like FLX, BUT without the flex! Seems like the best of both Worlds to me, a fairly stiff disc with tacky touch. It is awesome in the cold!

Sparkle (SP): This plastic is even more underated than Proline I think. First it's pretty. But most important it seems of better quality than Z or Champ. The plastic is stiffer and seems more shiny while Z and Champ both have that dullness to them. My best comparison would be to Lat's Opto line, which is amazing plastic. I haven't thrown them long term to know if they'll be as indestructable as Opto, but for now they seem very similar. Why is DGA getting no love? They have awesome molds (Rogue, Aftershock, Titanic are my favorites), and great plastic.

DGA discs are molded/injected by Discraft

the DGA plastic blends should in theory be no different than what Discraft makes

the molds are tweaked discraft molds

I don't think it has ever been speculated that Discraft has a seperate plastic supply that is only exclusively used for DGA

and I don't think that would make any economical sense

there are probably plenty of the more frequent Discraft runs that feel identical to the less frequently run DGA discs

In theory this makes sense to me, but I throw both Discraft and DGA and there is a discernable difference to me. Like I said Z is dull looking while SP is super shiny, and ESP is somewhat slick feeling while Proline feels tacky to me. Maybe I'm nuts.

proline is a mix of elite X and ESP, the two proline discs I have had on the past (tsunamis) were stiff and slick

Proline is like old grippy tacky pro and in my belief more durable than any star or esp

Proline is very very similar to ESP if not the exact same thing - great if you love ESP, not so much otherwise.

I used DGA for a tourney earlier this year. I got for molds. I just start throw an SP Aftershock and a Squall. Both outstanding feel and flight. I'm considering switching out my Innova midranges for the DGA discs.

My proline rogue has become my goto driver. Plastic feels great and the rogue is super easy for my noodle arm to get accuracy and D.
