Road Trip to Augusta

A couple buddies and I are planning on a weekend road trip to Augusta. We are planning on driving from the north side of Atlanta early Saturday morning, play all day, spend the night, play all Sunday, then come home late Sunday night. As a Augusta virgin, which courses are worth the 3 hour trip to Augusta? (Besides the obvious Steady Eddy, Jim Warner, and WR Jackson Memorial golf courses)

The hippodrome complex is a lot of fun, I hear they've even added a couple courses since I visited.

Pendleton King, Patriot's, Riverview are nice standouts besides IDGC and the Hippo.

Basically what DavidSauls said...play them all!

It also goes back to what you're looking for. Hippodrome, main course (or whatever they call it), from the long tees, is the most challenging. I think they're up to 4 courses at one location now, if you want to maximize your visit.....though all of Augusta's courses other than IDGC and Patriots are pretty close to each other. Riverview's kind of a very good old-school course. Lake Olmstead is the most open, and scenic, though you can lose a few discs, and you'll want to play when there aren't a lot of civilians present.

I'm in Augusta right now (Well Fort Gordon but I'm playing courses there) and I think my two favorites around there are Patriot's Park and Riverview Park. Hippodrome is fun and a good stop because you get four courses in one spot but it's fun and quirky more than it is a good course that challenges you. Seriously though you can't really go wrong even the worst course in Augusta is as good as the second best course around Seattle where I live. Augusta is all decent.
