One of my home courses, no creek in play on this hole. From the short box I typically throw a beat up Force or possibly on Orc/Wraith. I'll throw the same from the long unless I am trying to be smart, then I'll lay up a Buzzz for the easy look at three from the fairway.
What you don't know just looking at this hole is that this is the beginning of the end. 4 of the remaining 7 holes are difficult to 3 and easy to 5. The three par 3 holes are difficult to birdy in the long pin. |

A video I made of some highlights from a Sunday morning mini last July. Hole 12 (long tee/short pin) is included at the 1 minute mark, JJ with a bad drive but great upshot.
The idea was to get each hole being played well by a local but I never went out to try and get the rest of the holes. |

It is a small overflow no water in it on 12, holes 6 & 16 hold water. The course is a flood plane get enough rain and this entire course is under water.

The map indicates that you play over and or near a stream. Keeping in the fairway seems a premium and getting a 4 from the long tee seems nothing to be ashamed of. Also, it appears that the majority of the course is made up of long, tight, straight shots. By hole 12 you might be a little tired of trying to bomb low frozen ropes. When this is the case, I try to power down on a fairway driver like a TeeBird to ensure that I stay in the fairway. If this hole had been earlier in the round, I might have tried blasting it with a TeeBird or Sword, or if the shorter pin maybe using an Axis if the tunnel is tighter than it seems in the picture.
So, TeeBird straight down the gut. Upshot with an Anode. Then be close enough where I can tap in for a 3. This is likely the scenario for both tees unless I really am feeling that I can blast it that day. |
