Night Shift craze!!!

Being a thrower of just Discraft...............I wondering the fascination behind the Night Shift plastic craze. I remember when the Orc came out, I threw it as my main driver and had a few Night Shift Orcs (before I went to just throwing Discraft). I didnt see the big difference in flight, just feel of plastic. Can anyone shed some light as to why they are so sought after? and fetching crazy prices? Is it just that there wasnt a massive amount of them produced? Thanks.

I guess so to me some of the special blends and the night shifts feel a little more like Z plastic im a discraft only thrower as well besides night shift orcs i love them. The only reason i care so much to have them is bc i started out throwing dx orcs and always want the dx stamp on a star or champ plastic once i saw them it was on. Depending on weights some of them can be ALOT more stable...

You just said why. The plastic. Night Shift did a special blend or something and thats why it is sought after.

So why doesnt Innova produce more of this "Night Shift" blend? Sounds like it would be win/win..........Innova sells more discs, customers get the feel of plastic they desire.

They may not have the right plastics for the blend anymore or the exact blend was lost with time.

The first " Night shift " discs, the special blend Orcs, from 2006, did not cause the frenzy. They are collectable because they have unusual stamps.

The all blue " Night shift " run from 2009 really is what caused the frenzy.
Why ?
Because it included discs that are, and will always be extremely popular, the Destroyer, and the Boss, in very limited numbers (around 200 of each). They also ran more Orcs.
The Destroyers went really quickly, the Boss's soon after.
These discs ended up being overstable compared to the regular Star runs, which made them rare and desirable.
People bought these as throwers, they weren't really pretty. Alot of them have disappeared, not onto walls, but in woods, and lakes across the country.

Collectors are now starting to want these, and there just aren't enough people willing to sell, as there are buyers, hence the demand.

Innova now produces regular runs of Star plastic thats been stabilized, so, as far as throwers, these discs are really nothing special any more.

First generation Echo Destroyers are also in demand because of their overstability, but people still want these for throwers.
