Avenger SS would be a good flyer for you I think. If your really looking at going up in speeds (though I don't recommend it at this time), I would try out the Surge maybe.

Checkout a Teebird or TL. You'll be dominant with those.

So if I got the 150g Valk and Leopard (or TL), would you guys recommend Star plastic or Champion?? I know they're both about as durable as each other and star has a little better grip, but which would have better stability for straight shots?

Z/champ will beat slower and generally be more overstable, esp/star will beat a bit faster but be a straighter flyer imo

Are stars always straighter flying than their champ counterpart?

Two good Leopard (Pro Leopards have amazing amounts of glide) throws and a putt score the same 3 as a big drive, 75' approach, and putt. The only difference is that if you work on your form and get good enough throwing the Leopard, when you do move on to faster plastic you'll be outdriving your buddies and dropping in for 2 while they're stuck at their same distances.
This is true. When I really started having fun playing disc golf was when I started throwing discs I could control. I threw a Wizard and a Comet for a long time, and at first it was frustrating but once you play with these discs a bit, you can get all sorts of flight patterns out of them.

They can also go really far. I max out at 300' flat ground distance with my Comet but I've seen them thrown much farther. But Wizards (I actually throw Anodes now) and Comets aren't fun just because you can throw them far. They're fun because you can throw a pure, sweeping hyzer or anyhyzer or a straight laser that glides for ever right to the basket. There's nothing sweeter than a pure hyzer that glides for days and goes right where you want it to, even if it is only a 250' or 300' shot. Great shots are not always long ones, and the discs you can control will give you great shots. The disc you can't control will result in frustrating noob hyzers, looking around in the woods for your disc that meathooked, or complete inability to throw anything but your Boss because your form's totally jacked up.

If you're buying a Leopard or TL, get them in PRO plastic. They're plenty durable and have glide you won't find in the other plastics. They will also season fast enough that, by the time they get beat to useless, you'll be ready for a faster mold. You will also get to experience the disc's changes through its lifespan, which is something that should be considered when choosing molds since discs won't fly the same forever. Some are useful across their entire life and some are only good for a short while.

Do 150 Valks come in anything but DX?

I would like the extra glide of the pro, but it only goes down to 166g on the leopard in pro. And yes, valks go down to 145g in DX, and down to 150g for both Champion and star.

Imo yes. More understable anyways. For example, my old champ leopard was a straight flyer, and the star flipped over very easily.
