I see that the official announcement has come out
http://www.pdga.com/pdga-announces-l...3-major-events

The rumor I hear is that Rogers Lakewood in Valparaiso _will_ be included. From a fairly well placed source, but, who knows. It is a bit of a hike from Lemon Lake, about 45 minutes, but a very good course (even if I'm biased). For you craft brew lovers you can try our own Figure 8, who just opened a restaurant. And a number of other worthy stops, though I'd have to think which I'd recommend if you're coming straight in off the course.

I hope to find a way to volunteer, whichever the location is. But, it'd be much easier at Rogers - about a 15 minute bike ride from my new house.

I posted before reading the whole thread.

Funny to see posts like this one! It's very possible you're correct - I don't know who your source is. I don't know mine very well - I wouldn't be so surprised if he's wrong. But, he's not just a joe of the street, and didn't seem in doubt.

Even if I do have to hike out to Lemon Lake, I hope to be able to volunteer, or, worst case, spend some time in the gallery.

And one other thought - not sure if it's already been discussed in this thread.

Some time ago there was news that Lemon Lake had somehow put themselves on "reserve" status with the PDGA. i.e. they'd said they could host any Major that didn't get a bid, or where there were problems, potentially even on short notice. I wonder if that clause was invoked this time?

Any updates on worlds prep?

Who's going? I'm thinking about going. Missed this year due to my wife being 7 months pregnant, but she's encouraging me to play 2013. It looks like a fun venue and is a much shorter drive than Charlotte.

I noticed there is some tension within the local club and a separate club trying to form, both trying to take responsibility for running Worlds... Getting kinda weird. I hope that gets resolved soon.
