Heard about this from a local when I was in Charlotte. Sounded so cool when he described it... love the idea. If this is well executed, it could be loads of fun and a nice twist for a different DG experience.

Played with the designer last week. He said it will be great, but bring lots of bug spray. It's an island in a river in NC so there are probably bugs that can steal discs.

An island is similar to a peninsula, except that it has water on all sides and a peninsula has water on only three sides.

I walked the grounds with the designer, giving my insight and expertise.

This was before they had baskets in, still pretty rough. I can tell you that it will be pretty flat unless they put a tee on the bridge or something and there is a lot of short scrub brush with a smattering of mature trees. Originally, the plan was to play sorta clockwise around the island. Expect more than a few fairways with water on the side and a few water carries.

It's definitely going to be really unique and different. Has some good potential to be really cool if you don't mind losing discs in the water, lol.

It's gonna play more like some of the courses down toward the coast. It's pretty flat out there, and there's gonna be some water in play. It'll be a bit different than anything else around here for sure. I think the course (and park) will officially be open on the 30th. Also, the bugs out there are no joke.

Also, I forgot to mention that it's just nine holes for now, with the back nine to be done in the next month or two.
