why with the quoting of ebay prices?
prices are whatever people are willing to pay,
ebay is NOT the best predictor of pricing in a collectors market.

Ebay typically gets a higher price than the MP, because ebay and Paypal are gonna get their 9%, and because there are a lot of uneducated buyers and sellers on ebay compared to MP.
The "parking lot" at my course is another story altogether.
The point I am making is that you have to alter your expectations, depending on where you are selling. Just because it sells for $50 on ebay doesn't mean I expect to get $50 in MP or out of my trunk.

Ebay price points are a reference not an absolute. MrAnderson gives a nice chart that helps us establish an approximate value, but apdrvya is absolutely correct that value is determined by how much money I can get (not necessarily how much it sold for on ebay), whether higher or lower.

Don't get me started about all the trash that gets called "CE" on that haven for the uninformed and unscrupulous (ebay).

What is the best predictor? Do you know of a bigger market? Uneducated buyers and sellers are still part of supply and demand... the money being spent out there is all equal. If I was selling my collection the #1 place to get the most money is EBAY. If I was collecting and was trying to get a "bargain" I would avoid EBAY for the most part (there are deals that squeak through). Take the prices I have recorded and subtract 9% for ebay and maybe 4% for paypal (paypal is not the only way to purchase on ebay) and you can get pretty close the amount the seller has received.

More results for what things are going for. More information is not bad. Deal with it. If you think were wrong, then state your opinion of its worth.

So when people are asking "how much is my disc worth" we should specify if they are selling it locally, in the MP or on EBAY? (seems silly) I agree EBAY prices are top-end, but if a seller is unwilling to use Ebay they obviously do not care to get the most for their disc. (nothing wrong with this)

Hey guys, ever consider that there may be a middle ground here? Relax and compromise.

I've been a bit pre-occupied with work and a family (near) death lately and haven't been online and available to answer such questions.
