Most fun course in the Cincy area
I know of Idlewild, but Airy and especially Lincoln Ridge look like a blast. I'll be traveling through there in a couple weeks and have time for only one round.
It seems like a waste to not play Idlewild if I only have one shot, but damn Lincoln looks like fun. Give me some advice please. |

I personally like Lincoln Ridge more because of the "fun factor" but you could easily just play Idlewild and get your emotions beat up. Airy is a lot of fun too!?

Not even a question man...Lincoln Ridge is awesome. Airy is great too, but if you just have time for one, Lincoln is it! Idlewild is frustrating. Great course but really tough.

Lincoln Ridge would be the one to play. Every time I play LR I walk away satisfied, even if it was a bad round.

Depending on your skill level and what you're looking for will determine what to play.
Lincoln Ridge/Banklick is an extremely fun course with tons of elevation. Open bombers, wooded holes, and little bit of everything in between. Beginners to pros will find something they like about it. It is an extremely popular course in the area so during peak times it can be a bit busy. The Kenton Co. Parks Dept. does a great job of maintaining the course, though some of the teepads are starting to show some age(cracks, etc.). 24 holes up and down the hills will wear you out a little bit, but that's part of the fun for me. It is my personal favorite and I play it often (2-4 times per month.) Idlewild is an absolute beast. If you have an "off" day, you may get frustrated and not enjoy your round. That said, even on my off days I can still appreciate the beauty of the place. Good days , when you're out there carving it up, hitting your lines are pretty amazing though.(Had one of those rounds the other night!) Meandering creeks, island greens, secluded meadows in the middle of the woods, and some nice elevation. This place will wear you out too, but mostly because of its length. Some people may be happy to hear that some recent storms have taken down a pretty good number of trees along the edges of the fairways and have opened it up just a little bit more. Everything has been cleared of the fairways, but there is still some downed stuff on the edges. It's still plenty tight. I've played numerous round here where I didn't see another golfer during the entire round. Peaceful and secluded. |

Thanks everyone. That settles it; I'm playing Lincoln. I appeciate the insight.
If I play on a Friday morning, will there be a lot of player traffic? |

You should be good. Mostly busy in the afternoons. Morning rounds are my favorite at LR! Enjoy.

1) Definitely Lincoln Ridge
![]() 2) Last time I was there on a Friday, a) it was mowing day, but that isn't necessarily a 'given', and b) they really appreciate the DG'rs out there, so say 'hi' and thank them for maintaining a great course, if they're out working on it. 3) Have fun!

Banklick is a blast for sure as is Mt Airy. My best round ever was at Banklick in 2001. Shot a -14 on a 21 hole layout!
