It can be a 3 with a well placed drive that makes it to through the first bit of trees. Your second shot may be longer than your tee shot though, and it has a low ceiling as well. The green is protected by trees and vines as well, so your upshot has to be placed.

Right, shouldn't a hole that's well played have a chance at birdie now and then? A second shot longer than your tee shot is not a reasonable chance at birdie...?

I dunno, just seems like an odd hole to call a par three. In golf it's like calling a 480 yard hole a par three. If you have to make a "putt" from 45% of the total distance of the hole for a birdie it doesn't seem quite right.

Since you're new I'm gonna let you search out the umpteen "what is par?" threads and hash that out there.
