ProdigyDisc Demo from 1-16-13

Yesterday, ProdigyDisc held a Disc Demo at Oregon Park in Merietta, Georgia. Prodigy brought 56 of their first to be released distance drivers, the D1 and D4, to be tested by more casual players. Phil, Will, and Paige where there to demonstrate the amazingness of the new discs. After a few show off throws from the pros, we the audience where allowed to chunk the discs. Most where able to throw at least two discs, but others threw more if they choose to go retrieve discs that where thrown.

Phil created a contest where the prize was a chance out of the 5 closest CTPs to win a disc before we started to throw the discs. He created two "CTP" targets that where on the driving range. One CTP was a white pipe around 500ft downhill from where we drove from, and the other was an umbrella around 200ft from the "tee". Everyone got a chance to throw and 10 discs where given away to the winners.

In all it was a great event, we got to talk to Phil, Will, and Paige. We got to feel, throw, and win a few of the new discs. There where some interviews and film taken that will be used in a promotion video that will be coming out soon. Shout out to Phil, Will, and Paige: Thank you so much for coming to and creating this event. I really enjoyed and appreciated your openness and friendliness to everyone! And I cannot wait to what is to come from ProdigyDisc!

Okay now for more info about my personal experience. I got a chance to throw the D1 and D4. My first throw was with a D4 and it did exactly, exactly, what I predicted it to do. I threw it flat with a tad bit of hyzer and I gave it a rip. It was a very smooth release and glided for days. It had no major fade at the end, just smooth eased fade. But the disc I threw landed 3ft away from the CTP and I ended up taking it home with me. The D4 is a really really really excellent understable driver. I personally only got to throw it once but it did everything I thought it would do. I threw it on a really big hyzerflip. It flipped and just went. I could have left off some hyzer to get it to turn more when it flipped but I was still amazed and the distance and the glide.

Alright now for the plastic. It feels slick like a mix the new run and the shinny star plastic from innova yet it has the tackyness and grip of the old CE or KC 10x. I also has some feel like a soft and grippy GL plastic. It's just amazing okay? Phil was talking about how it took him 18 months to create this plastic and he says he is not done and they will be making different plastic releases later in the year. So excited!

I know I am not a pro , but sign me up for the Prodigy team Phil!

Here are some pictures of me and Will and the disc I won. (Sorry about the Instagram filters, it kinda helps because the picture was a little dark)

497' is a great first pull, even if it was downhill.

I ment to say the first disc I threw was a D1 not a D4. Sorry. I wish I could still edit the article now that I am able to read and find mistakes....

Yeah! Google maps say it was around 570+ but I'm not going to judge off my geological references.

The CTP was a white pipe in the driving range. And we drove off from under the the left back side of the building. Hang on I'll show a picture.
