Yeah, I just went and read the thread on PDGA. Later on the OP comes out and admits s/he basically want to get rid of jump puts with

30m might not be enough to get rid of jump putts

weak.

hardly any amateurs and only some pros consider within 100ft "putting". Are we trying to make our sport less impressive to the casual viewer?

people have a hard enough time knowing if they are outside the circle when it is 10m. can you imagine people trying to decipher if they are outside the circle at 30m?

this.... you've got to be ****ing kidding me. it's hard enough trying to get people to understand how far 10m is. people ask all the time if they are outside the circle when they are clearly in or clearly way out. i can't even conceive trying to figure out 30m by eyeballing it... especially if a lot of foliage or elevation is involved. that's just ****ing crazy

tourney rounds will take another 60 minutes to play now because you'll have to wait for everyone to walk off their 30m on every hole!

This will never happen. They are not going to add a rule that everyone hates just because one person hates jump putts....
(looks around at angry smokers)...ok they would not pass a rule everyone hates TWICE.

I love jump putters, them miss a majority of their putts trying to get fancy.
