Okay, so this weekend I finally scooped up a Soft Anode (172g) and was really excited to see what the hype was all about. (Previously, I was putting with a KC Aviar Pro)
Well, things didn't exactly go how I expected. It was a lovely 34 degrees and wet in Michigan this weekend. I don't know if it was just pure bad luck all day or what, but just about every putt bounced out. Now, granted....I only used it in about 4 round so far, but unless I hit DEAD CENTER of the pole between the chains, this little bugger bounced right out! Has anyone had this problem? Was it just terrible luck? |

premium plastic putters and cold weather don't mix.

Soft Anodes/Ions are actually pretty good in the cold.

I don't have bounce out problem like you did but I don't play in cold weather (I am in Fla). The outer black ring (or white for glow) do help catch the chain. Are you hitting at the basket high? If so then it is more likely to bounce off if hit at the high part of basket.

i have had mixed reactions with the anode glow as my putter. A couple rounds ago, it wouldnt miss. i would fall in constantly. My last tourney round i hit the chains 4 times without luck. I just chalked it up to bad luck that day, as in a round of 21 i had 8 chain hit and misses, very sickening day

I was hitting it about middle(Height) of the chains, and the shots would be a little left or little right of dead middle. Normally, those would drop no problem. But today, just nothing would drop, it was like the chains just pushed it out hahaha.
I'm going out tomorrow so we'll see if it's better. I still love how the Anode feels in my hand and how straight it flies out of my hand. Not gonna give up on it, just want to see if anyone has had this issue. Maybe just chalk it up as some bad luck. The people is my group were shocked how unforgiving it was today. |

That's funny - I started the year putting with a soft Anode as well, and the thing had an abnormally high amount of bounce outs too! I switched back to a Wizard and the bounce outs stopped right away. There's something about that soft plastic...it's like it actually springs back out after impact.

I dont know many people who use MVP products but I have seen this happen to them the few times I have played with them but realistically at this time of year in Minnesota who does that not happen to? Unless the course is a high traffic place the chains get cold and set.

The softs tend to bounce. I had a tough time because of the angle I was coming in At from long putts. I switched to neutron, which is still nice even in cold weather. Bounce outs are way less for me with the neutron. All putters have a learning curve. The anode took me awhile to click with but once I did its been lights out getting better and longer putts every week. YMMV
The softs are benched for putting duties and are my main approach discs.
