Club Perks...

What are some perks that are offered from your local clubs?
I know the $1 or $2 off tourney entry fees and/or the clubs plastic and Bag Tags. Any other perks?
Sorry, If there is another thread on the subject, the search feature doesnt work for me.

We will be having our "Best Damn Player" tourney and would like to offer a bit more than that. Like one of our Sponsors- take your mini in and get $3 off a large pizza- no limit. We are expanding on that to include a shoe retailer-10% off with a online code, for members only.

Any other ideas?

I just finished the season at my local disc golf club, came with a ton of perks that I'm certainly happy with. Along with a few pieces of club stamped plastic/mini for participating, got quite a few for various CTP's/etc throughout the league season.

Other cool merchandise included nice club stamped towels to clip on your bag, and club shirts.

Some other possibilities could be things like stamped baseball caps, maybe even bumper stickers to show club pride.

Our club has given out umbrellas, aluminum water bottles, erasable score cards, dry-fit club shirts, and for renewal early this year a camp stool with our club logo and your name/pdga number screen printed on the canvas.

I know local memebers around here have no cap for the ace pool - hit one during league play and get it all! Nonmembers cap out at $100.

I like the nonmember cap.

My club had its two discs for renewal, and also a disc retailer did 10% off I I remember correctly.

The perks: (I hope this doesn't sound jerky)

Courses proposed
Courses installed
Courses Protected
Advocacy
Events hosted
Comraderie
Maintenance
Vandalism repair
Service projects
School programs
Community exposure of sport
Local Media exposure of sport
Non profit status for receipting
Liability management

sense of community
pride
friendships

My personal online research leading to the belief that most DG clubs are sitting at about $20 a year per member, with likely some discounting for family groups.

That's a ton of benefits for that investment.

That works for me, but I know most clubs do have to answer the same questions far too often..

WHYDFMT "What have you done for me TODAY?"
WSWYGM "What STUFF will you give ME?"

(ok that last part was a little jerky)

We try to keep the cost of the membership package VERY low. The difference goes to pay the 1 Millon Insurance policy.

With a membership DISContinuum offer a bag tag challenge that you are automatically enrolled in.

DISContinuum hosts a yearly club members only event that is FREE for members as long as they are PDGA current. If they aren't it's $10 to play. There are trophies for 1st in both divisions (MPO & MA1). With no prizes all pros play MPO and all Ams play MA1. We also offer trophies for the putting contest and driving contest. The club covers all PDGA expenses (sanctioning & per player fee).

DISContinuum also hosts a Club Challenge that is free for all club members and clubs involved. The past few years we've had 4 other clubs involved. There is a traveling trophy that was paid for by DISContinuum and has the club that wins team name engraved on it. We had 5 clubs and 133 players this past year.

There is a club members only section on our forum.
