Australian Open 2012 is FULL

72 players have registered for this years Australian Open - oos, Australian Championships that is DOH, making it the largest event in Australian DG History! After a few setbacks (plus I gotta break out of work really ealry somehow to make my flight!)...I have decided to be one of the 72...even with the airlines jacking up prices from a few weeks ago, ugh.

Will provide you guys with updates and such, but for now the big question.

My state will be sending a 10 player strong contigent...1 Master, 3 Opens, 5 advanced and 1 Rec. I am one of the 5 Advanced, but played the last event as a Rec, and am considering applying to be put back down again - I am a rec player plai and simple.

Should I do so to even up our numbers (2 in rec instead of 5 in one catergory) or just deal with being way last in Advanced...no doubt behind a few recs as well.

Oh and yes, those are all the divisions over here before anyone asks...

people say that, but I felt more challenged as a rec, going against my peers...as an advanced I was put down with the really bad players and didnt learn a thing.

the worst Adv players were worse than the best Rec players???

maybe there are some Rec players that need to move up

I can see what he's saying. I made my first move to advanced before I was ready for it and constantly found myself on the bottom cards. There is no competition on the bottom card. It's just a bunch of guys that had a poor first round and are now treating everything super casual, usually not sober, and full of complaining. It's not fun.

theres that too...i have asked the adg to look into a 4th division down the road between rec and advanced....auto move up after a year

getting nervous...and my game is soo inconsistent lately, 2 under rounds followed by 5 overs, ugh. Driving as far as I ever could (not far but occasionally outdriving people I usually dont), but its my approach and putting thats killing me, sigh
