We've only seen a very small number of these discs. Let's give it some time.

Only got a few throws in with my Amps today. The red one was way less stable than the white one. I wish there wasn't snow on the ground so I wouldn't have to worry about the white one hiding on me, and so I can do rollers! I was able to find a small area to try some rollers in, and man was I impressed. Barely need any power for them to pop up and go straight as a laser. Need to get out this weekend when it pushes 50* so I can give them a good workout.

I heard back from them and it seems in between my two discs is where they are aiming. From the sounds of it the white was more OS than they wanted and the red a bit more understable than what they want the regular run to be. They said they've already started taking steps to tweak the mold how they need, like they've done with their other molds.

I'm sure Chad sent us a very similar response. He also let me know that our tester discs were among the first made when starting the production run when they have to do a lot of adjusting to get the discs coming out how they want. Usually we don't get such early shot discs for testers (as they don't represent what the production run will be like as well as discs run subsequently), but for this superfast/secret Amp release they had to get us the discs as quick as possible. This is why the PLH is so different between the white and red, and the red is closer to what the Amp is supposed to be.

Yeah from what he described and my flight estimations based on the two early run Amps I threw, we should have a very glidey true understable mold great for zero fade shots and lines that finish right. I'm betting the tweaked ones won't be digging into the ground and rolling as much on big anhyzers and turnovers. I think the disc Chad described to us is the ideal stability to pair with the Volt (and a longer Vector!).

Please read this in a curious tone, not a negative tone:
Why did they send the testers 2 discs that aren't the actual AMP? What are they trying to learn from these 2 discs? With the release in a week and a half it seems really strange. It sounds kind of improbable but hopefully they get some real AMPS to the testers before this launch so I can see what I'm actually buying. |
